About SFMD
The Superstition Fire & Medical District (SFMD) provides an all-hazard response and excellent service to over 60,000 residents throughout the City of Apache Junction, as well as unincorporated areas in Gold Canyon, Goldfield Foothills, Superstition Foothills, and Entrada Del Oro. Located in the easternmost portion of the Phoenix Metropolitan area, SFMD serves an area of approximately 62 square miles. The fire district has a distinct blend of urban and rural residential neighborhoods, with significant seasonal fluctuation in population, intermixed with retail and commercial areas.
SFMD operates out of five fire stations operating 24/7/365, an Administrative Office, Regional Training Center, and Fleet Maintenance facility. Three of our fire stations provide service within the City of Apache Junction while two serve Gold Canyon, Peralta Trails, and surrounding areas. Current fire and medical services are provided by ALS Engine and Ladder companies, and four ALS ambulances. Daily operational oversight is provided by a Battalion Chief and Battalion Safety Officer.
The Superstition Fire & Medical District is seeking to hire only the best and most qualified candidates to support our vision of being the premier fire district in the State of Arizona. SFMD has proudly adopted the hiring motto: “hire for character, train for skill”. Come join our team!
SFMD is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender identity expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
