Ride-Along Program
The SFMD Ride Along Program provides an opportunity for members of the public to accompany SFMD duty crews as they respond to emergency and non-emergency activities.
Ride Along Program Requirements and Guidelines
- Participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Participants must be able to function in such a way that they do not impede the crew’s ability to complete their duties. (Example: The Rider must be able to get in and out of Fire District apparatus without assistance.)
- Participants may sign up for no more than two Ride Alongs per year.
How to Sign Up for a Ride Along
- Step 1 – Review the Ride-Along Rider Expectations and Policy and watch the HIPAA training video below.
- Step 2 – Click this link to submit a Ride-Along Liability Waiver and schedule your Ride-Along. When scheduling your Ride-Along, please select a day that is at least one week in the future to allow for your scheduling request to be processed and confirmed.
- Step 3 – The SFMD Ride-Along Liaison will contact you with confirmation of your scheduled Ride-Along date and location.
