Transportation Services Paramedic

The District is seeking to establish a hiring list for the position of Paramedic. Transportation personnel are assigned a 56-hour workweek on the 48/96 schedule.

The Ideal SFMD Paramedic Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an individual with the ability to perform the physically and mentally demanding job of a paramedic, demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, have a willingness to learn and train, and adapt to necessary change. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the ability to interact with and serve both a multigenerational and diverse workforce and the public.

Required Training and Experience:

A minimum of 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensing, Certifications, and other Requirements:

Candidates must have the following at the time of application:

  • Current State Driver’s License in good standing
  • Current Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) Paramedic Certification
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent advanced pediatric life support provider certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Salary and Benefits:

  • Non-Exempt Position
  • Salary Range – $56,656.80 – $75,925.53
  • SFMD uses a wage scale for increases so there will be a 5% increase at the 6-month mark and another 5% increase at the one year mark and 5% increases each year thereafter, up to step 5, at which time the top of the range will be reached.
